PMS Spring 2022 end of season summary
Boys Lacrosse
The boys MS lacrosse A team finished 4-6 this year. Despite the record, the season was a success in that that team improved every game. The season culminated with an exclamation-point win over Community. Seven different players scored in that game, including five players who will presumably return to the team next year. Other evidence of growth was on display in the second game against a dominant Stone Bridge team. The boys scored twice against Stone Bridge and held them to single digits, which was a marked improvement from the first competition. The team also gutted out two hard-fought victories against Millstone, a team that generally is on par with us as a program.
Coaches Robtison and McEvoy are truly grateful for the chance to coach the boys. They were a delight to be around, and most of them clearly improved as lacrosse players. The graduating eighth graders and students who cannot play next year will be missed, but we are still left with a very promising group of underclassmen. Next year has the potential to be a special one for the program's record, but this year's experience was a success for different reasons.
Baseball
The Princeton Tigers Baseball Team finished the 2022 baseball season with a record of 1-9. There were a lot of positives during the season which were highlighted by the boys' skill development and growth. The boys put in a lot of hard work and improved on their fundamental skills and have a bright outlook for next season with a majority of the team returning for the 2023 season.
The team’s shining moment came in the final game of the season where they played a complete game at the plate, in the field, and on the mound. The pitching staff struck out 13 batters surrendering just 3 earned runs, the fielders made all the plays, and the bats came alive with a 17-run output. Every player was a part of the win. A major shout-out goes to the boys for staying together during the tough parts of the season and continuing to work hard and improve, especially in the latter half of the season.

Track and Field
This year the Boys Track & Field Team finished with a record of 9-1, and the Girls Track & Field Team finished with a record of 10-0.
We did not make any cuts and were able to give all 186 student-athletes opportunities to participate in multiple meets and events and learn something new.
On top of being inclusive to all the students who joined our program initially, we also took on every student that was cut from other sports and joined our program as well.
We had 3 girls break Princeton Middle School All-Time Records in the 55-meter hurdles, the discus, and the shot put which helped propel them to their second undefeated season in a row.
We had 2 boys run under 5:20 in the 1600m, and 3 girls run under 6:00 in the 1600m.
We were undefeated in high jump on both boys and girls teams, and our girls throws showed the most improvement throughout the season.
Both girls and boys 4x100m relay teams were stronger than we've seen in the past couple of years, and we're hoping for a really strong relay showing next spring as we had a lot of 6th and 7th graders who sprinted well.
Overall, considering we only practiced at an actual track 5 times in the season, and most of our athletes did not practice on the track at all, we feel that we had an immensely successful season and saw so much positive growth in so many ways.

Girl's Lacrosse
Led by three amazing young lady captains, the Girls Middle School Lacrosse team tallied a record of 9-2 on the season and demonstrated solid fundamental lacrosse throughout the 2022 Spring. Captains Zoie Reynolds, Quinn Gallagher, and Kacey Howes led an experienced group of girls to one of their finest seasons in over a decade. Quinn, Kacey and Taylor Davidson anchored the midfield along with Emerson Barker and Layla Casto running fearlessly up and down the field playing stellar offense and tough defense this past spring. Offensively at the Attack position, Arianna Marcus, Jess Ehee, and Rachel Blecher moved in and out of opponent's defensive play scoring an array of goals all season long. A dominant defense spearheaded by Reynolds allowed few shots and even fewer goals. Lyla Shaver, Claire Barlag, Elena Pavicevic, and newcomers Charlotte Woods and Scarlett Angelone locked down opponent offenses week in and week out helping fellow newcomer and Goalie Annie Flanagan get comfortable in the early part of the season to later become a commanding force between the pipes.
